Guangzhou Open: Seidel goes down to qualifier Sawangkaew in first round
The Thai woman will play the winner of the match between Chinese Yue Yuan, the No 3 seed, and Belgian Greet Minnen in the next round

Thai qualifier Mananchaya Sawangkaew moved into the second round of the Guangzhou Open by defeating German lucky loser Ella Seidel 6-1, 2-6, 6-2 at the Nansha International Tennis Center on Tuesday.
Sawangkaew, ranked No 163, will play the winner of the match between Chinese Yue Yuan, the No 3 seed, and Belgian Greet Minnen next.
