Italian Jasmine Paolini, the No 15 seed, advanced to the second round of the Guadalajara Open in Mexico by defeating American Louisa Chirico 6-0, 7-6 (3) on Sunday afternoon.
Paolini, ranked No 33, will face the winner of the match between Dutch qualifier Demi Schuurs and Italian Martina Trevisan next.
