Guadalajara Open: Qualifier Gadecki stuns Trevisan to reach semi-finals
Olivia Gadecki beat Martina Trevisan 6-2, 3-6, 6-1 and will face the winner of the match between Camila Osorio and Kamilla Rakhimova in the next round
Australian qualifier Olivia Gadecki reached the semi-finals of the Guadalajara Open by winning against Italian Martina Trevisan 6-2, 3-6, 6-1 at the Panamerican Tennis Center.
Gadecki, ranked No 152, will play the winner of the match between Colombian Camila Osorio and Russian Kamilla Rakhimova next.
Ahead of her victory, the 22-year-old Australian beat American Sloane Stephens (6-4, 6-3) and American Danielle Collins, the second seed (6-3, 6-3).
Trevisan, ranked No 99, won against American Caroline Dolehide, the No 8 seed (6-3, 6-2) and Mexican Renata Zarazua (6-4, 6-3) earlier in the tournament.
