Guadalajara Open: Frech eases past Stakusic to book spot in last four

Pole Magdalena Frech, the No 5 seed, won against Canadian wildcard Marina Stakusic 6-4, 6-3 to move into the semi-finals of the Guadalajara Open at the Panamerican Tennis Center.
Frech, ranked No 43, will face Frenchwoman Caroline Garcia, the No 4 seed, next.
The Pole beat American Emina Bektas (6-4, 6-4) and American Ashlyn Krueger (3-6, 6-3, 6-1) earlier in the tournament.
In the previous rounds of the Guadalajara tournament, Stakusic, ranked No 155, defeated Slovak Anna Karolina Schmiedlova (6-2, 6-4) and edged out Latvian Jelena Ostapenko, the top seed (6-3, 5-7, 7-6).
