Top-seeded Tunisian Ons Jabeur moved into the last 16 of the Guadalajara Open Akron by beating American Alycia Parks 6-2, 6-2 on Wednesday night.
Jabeur, ranked No 7, needed just 59 minutes to improve to 3-0 against the hard-serving American. She will play Martina Trevisan next.
Jabeur improves to 28-13 on the season, and 10-7 on hard courts. She won 25 of 30 first-serve points and saved one of two break points, while breaking Parks five times from seven opportunities.
Jabeur has won all six sets she has played against Parks in their three meetings.
In the previous round, Parks, ranked No 45, won against Lauren Davis (6-3, 6-2).
