Guadalajara Open Akron: Dolehide beats Trevisan to reach the semi-finals

American Caroline Dolehide reached the semi-finals of the Guadalajara Open Akron by beating Italian Martina Trevisan 3-6, 7-6 (9), 6-3 on Friday.
Dolehide, ranked No 111, will face American Sofia Kenin next.
Ahead of her victory, the American won against Peyton Stearns (6-7 (1), 7-6 (5), 7-6 (2)), lucky loser Sachia Vickery (6-3, 4-6, 6-1) and Russian Ekaterina Alexandrova, the No 8 seed (6-1, 6-2).
Trevisan, ranked No 54, defeated Dutch qualifier Demi Schuurs (6-2, 6-0), No 15 seed Jasmine Paolini (7-5, 6-2) and Tunisian Ons Jabeur, the top seed (6-7 (4), 7-5, 6-3) in the previous rounds.
