Italian Martina Trevisan, the second seed, won against Serb Aleksandra Krunic 6-3, 6-3 to reach the last 8 of the Guadalajara 125 Open on Wednesday.
Trevisan, ranked No 90, will play Russian Kamilla Rakhimova, the No 5 seed, next.
Ahead of her victory, the Italian beat Russian Valeria Savinykh (3-6, 6-4, 6-2).
Krunic, ranked No 294, defeated Canadian Marina Stakusic (6-0, 7-6 (5)) in the previous round.
