Guadalajara 125 Open: Schmiedlova beats Bektas to make last four
Anna Karolina Schmiedlova beat Emina Bektas 6-3, 6-2. She’ll face the winner of the match between Tatjana Maria and Olivia Gadecki in the next round

Slovak Anna Karolina Schmiedlova, the top seed, moved into the last four of the Guadalajara 125 Open by winning against American Emina Bektas, the No 6 seed, 6-3, 6-2.
Schmiedlova, ranked No 87, will face the winner of the match between German Tatjana Maria, the No 4 seed, and Australian Olivia Gadecki next.
In the previous rounds, the Slovak defeated wildcard Julia Garcia Ruiz (4-6, 6-2, 6-0) and Australian qualifier Kimberly Birrell (6-2, 6-3).
Bektas, ranked No 116, won against Usue Maitane Arconada (6-7 (8), 7-6 (6), 6-1) and wildcard Dimitra Pavlou (6-1, 6-1) earlier in the tournament.
