Filipino Alexandra Eala edged out American Victoria Hu 3-6, 7-6 (2), 6-4 to reach the last 16 of the Guadalajara 125 Open on Monday.

Eala, ranked No 153, will face German Tatjana Maria, the No 4 seed, next.
