Italian Jasmine Paolini, the No 3 seed, won against Russian Anna Blinkova 6-0, 6-3 to reach the quarter-finals of the Grand Est Open at Tennis Club de Contrexéville on Thursday.
Paolini, ranked No 72, will face the winner of the match between Romanian Alexandra Ignatik and Hungarian Dalma Galfi, the No 6 seed, next.
Ahead of her victory, the Italian defeated American Bernarda Pera (0-6, 6-2, 6-1).
Blinkova, ranked No 128, won against Swiss wildcard Stefanie Voegele (6-1, 6-3) in the previous round.
