Frenchwoman Elsa Jacquemot won against American Katie Volynets, the No 8 seed, 6-4, 3-6, 6-2 to move into the second round of the Grand Est Open at Tennis Club de Contrexéville on Monday afternoon.
Jacquemot, ranked No 171, will face Australian Olivia Gadecki next.
