Hungarian Dalma Galfi, the No 6 seed, reached the last 8 of the Grand Est Open by beating Romanian Alexandra Ignatik 6-4, 6-4 at Tennis Club de Contrexéville on Thursday.

Galfi, ranked No 89, will face Italian Jasmine Paolini, the No 3 seed, next.

Ahead of her victory, the Hungarian won against Frenchwoman Kristina Mladenovic (6-7 (5), 6-4, 6-3).

Ignatik, ranked No 172, defeated French wildcard Margaux Rouvroy (6-4, 6-1) in the previous round.
