Hungarian Dalma Galfi, the No 6 seed, won against Frenchwoman Kristina Mladenovic 6-7 (5), 6-4, 6-3 to reach the second round of the Grand Est Open at Tennis Club de Contrexéville on Tuesday afternoon.
Galfi, ranked No 89, will play Romanian Alexandra Ignatik next.
