Australian Olivia Gadecki defeated Frenchwoman Elsa Jacquemot 6-2, 6-1 to reach the quarter-finals of the Grand Est Open at Tennis Club de Contrexéville on Wednesday evening.
Gadecki, ranked No 178, will face Hungarian Anna Bondar, the top seed, next.
In the previous round, the 20-year-old Australian won against French wildcard Audrey Albie (7-5, 6-3).
Jacquemot, ranked No 171, beat American Katie Volynets, the No 8 seed (6-4, 3-6, 6-2) in the previous round.
