Grand Est Open: Bondar moves into last 8

Anna Bondar won against Lena Papadakis 6-2, 6-2 on Wednesday afternoon. She’ll face the winner of the match between Australian Olivia Gadecki and Frenchwoman Elsa Jacquemot in the next round

Hungarian Anna Bondar, the top seed, moved into the last 8 of the Grand Est Open by winning against German qualifier Lena Papadakis 6-2, 6-2 at Tennis Club de Contrexéville on Wednesday.

Bondar, ranked No 64, will play the winner of the match between Australian Olivia Gadecki and Frenchwoman Elsa Jacquemot next.

The Hungarian beat Brazilian Laura Pigossi (6-4, 6-2) in the previous round.

During the first round, Papadakis, ranked No 320, defeated Australian Zoe Hives (3-6, 6-3, 6-3).
