Hungarian Anna Bondar, the top seed, won against Australian Olivia Gadecki 4-6, 6-3, 6-2 to reach the semi-finals of the Grand Est Open at Tennis Club de Contrexéville on Friday afternoon.
Bondar, ranked No 64, will face the winner of the match between Italian Jasmine Paolini, the No 3 seed, and Hungarian Dalma Galfi, the No 6 seed, next.
The Hungarian defeated Brazilian Laura Pigossi (6-4, 6-2) and German qualifier Lena Papadakis (6-2, 6-2) earlier in the tournament.
In the previous rounds, Gadecki, ranked No 178, beat French wildcard Audrey Albie (7-5, 6-3) and Frenchwoman Elsa Jacquemot (6-2, 6-1).
