Grand Est Open 88: Sherif beats Arango to make last four
Mayar Sherif defeated Emiliana Arango 6-4, 6-2. She’ll face the winner of the match between Selena Janicijevic and Dalila Jakupovic in the next round

Egyptian Mayar Sherif, the No 3 seed, defeated Colombian Emiliana Arango, the No 6 seed, 6-4, 6-2 to advance to the semi-finals of the Grand Est Open 88 on Friday.
Sherif, ranked No 78, will play the winner of the match between Frenchwoman Selena Janicijevic and Slovenian Dalila Jakupovic next.
The Egyptian benefited from the abandonment of Russian Polina Kudermetova (6-2, 1-0) and won against American Maria Mateas (6-1, 6-1) ahead of her victory.
In the previous rounds, Arango, ranked No 122, beat Swiss qualifier Conny Perrin (6-3, 4-6, 6-2) and German lucky loser Caroline Werner (6-1, 6-1).
