Frenchwoman Elsa Jacquemot, the No 8 seed, advanced to the quarter-finals of the Grand Est Open 88 by winning against Romanian Andreea Mitu 6-3, 6-0 on Thursday.
Jacquemot, ranked No 151, will face Italian Lucia Bronzetti, the No 4 seed, next.
In the previous round, the 21-year-old Frenchman edged out Russian qualifier Elena Pridankina (4-6, 6-4, 7-6).
Mitu, ranked No 211, defeated French qualifier Amandine Monnot (6-2, 7-6 (9)) in the previous round.
