Grand Est Open 88: Rouvroy knocked out by Gao in quarter-finals
The Chinese luckly loser will face the winner of the match between Italian Lucia Bronzetti, the No 4 seed, and Frenchwoman Elsa Jacquemot, the No 8 seed, in the next round

Chinese lucky loser Xinyu Gao moved into the semi-finals of the Grand Est Open 88 by winning against French wildcard Margaux Rouvroy 6-4, 7-5 on Friday.
Gao, ranked No 187, will face the winner of the match between Italian Lucia Bronzetti, the No 4 seed, and Frenchwoman Elsa Jacquemot, the No 8 seed, next.
The Chinese defeated Serb Lola Radivojevic (6-0, 6-4) and Brazilian Laura Pigossi, the No 5 seed (6-2, 5-7, 6-2) earlier in the tournament.
In the previous rounds, Rouvroy, ranked No 244, beat Portuguese Francisca Jorge (6-4, 6-1) and qualifier Diana Martynov (6-3, 6-1).
