Italian Lucia Bronzetti, the No 4 seed, won against Ukrainian Kateryna Baindl 7-5, 5-7, 6-3 to move into the last 8 of the Grand Est Open 88 on Wednesday.
Bronzetti, ranked No 81, will play the winner of the match between Romanian Andreea Mitu and Frenchwoman Elsa Jacquemot, the No 8 seed, next.
The Italian defeated Swiss Simona Waltert (6-1, 6-2) ahead of her victory.
In the previous round, Baindl, ranked No 184, beat Frenchwoman Carole Monnet (7-6 (4), 6-1).
