Colombian Emiliana Arango, the No 6 seed, beat German lucky loser Caroline Werner 6-1, 6-1 to advance to the last eight of the Grand Est Open 88 on Thursday evening.
Arango, ranked No 122, will face Egyptian Mayar Sherif, the No 3 seed, next.
Ahead of her victory, the Colombian won against Swiss qualifier Conny Perrin (6-3, 4-6, 6-2).
Caroline Werner defeated Lithuanian Justina Mikulskyte (3-6, 6-2, 6-0) in the previous round.
