Galaxy Holding Group Guangzhou Open: Top seed Linette moves into semi-finals
Magda Linette beat Rebeka Masarova 7-5, 7-6 (6) on Thursday and will play Kazakh Yulia Putintseva in the next round

Pole Magda Linette, the top seed, moved into the semi-finals of the Galaxy Holding Group Guangzhou Open by defeating Spaniard Rebeka Masarova, the No 5 seed, 7-5, 7-6 (6) on Thursday afternoon.
Linette, ranked No 27, will play Kazakh Yulia Putintseva next.
The Pole won against Jodie Burrage (6-7 (3), 6-0, 6-2) and Australian Daria Saville (6-0, 7-6) ahead of her victory.
In the previous rounds, Masarova, ranked No 64, won against Ukrainian Kateryna Baindl (7-5, 6-2) and edged out Swiss qualifier Viktorija Golubic (6-1, 3-6, 7-6 (7)).
