Mexican Renata Zarazua reached the last four of the Florianopolis Open by winning against Sara Bejlek 6-3, 6-3 on Friday evening.
Zarazua, ranked No 151, will face the winner of the match between Romanian Miriam Bulgaru and Australian wildcard Ajla Tomljanovic next.
Ahead of her victory, the Mexican defeated Hungarian Panna Udvardy, the No 7 seed (7-5, 6-2) and Greek Despina Papamichail (6-4, 6-2).
Bejlek, ranked No 134, won against Italian Sara Errani, the No 4 seed (6-1, 7-6 (5)) and Frenchwoman Leolia Jeanjean (6-2, 7-6 (3)) earlier in the tournament.
