Greek Despina Papamichail won against Argentinian Julia Riera 6-4, 7-6 (2) to move into the second round of the Florianopolis Open on Monday evening.
Papamichail, ranked No 224, will play the winner of the match between Mexican Renata Zarazua and Hungarian Panna Udvardy, the No 7 seed, next.
