Fifth Third Charleston 125 2: Davis recovers from a set down v Lee to reach semi-finals

American wildcard Lauren Davis won against Romanian qualifier Gabriela Lee 4-6, 7-6 (2), 6-1 to advance to the semi-finals of the Fifth Third Charleston 125 2 on Friday.
Davis, ranked No 311, will face the winner of the match between Mexican Renata Zarazua, the top seed, and American Louisa Chirico, the No 6 seed, next.
In the previous rounds, the American beat Hungarian Panna Udvardy, the No 4 seed (6-1, 6-4) and Australian Astra Sharma (6-3, 7-6 (5)).
Lee, ranked No 306, defeated Canadian lucky loser Kayla Cross (6-2, 6-1) and American Iva Jovic, the No 8 seed (7-6 (5), 6-2) earlier in the tournament.
