Muchova returns from 10-month injury break with win as Avanesyan quits in Eastbourne
Karolina Muchova benefited from the abandonment of Elina Avanesyan (3-1) on Tuesday and will play Pole qualifier Magda Linette in the next round

Karolina Muchova made a successful return to the WTA Tour after 10 months out through injury as she reached the last 16 of the Eastbourne Open when Russian qualifier Elina Avanesyan retired on Tuesday at Devonshire Park Lawn Club.
Muchova, ranked No 35, led 3-1 when Avanesyan, ranked No 81, pulled out on Tuesday afternoon at Devonshire Park Lawn Club.
Karolina Muchova will face Pole qualifier Magda Linette next.
