Eastbourne Open: Fernandez through to semi-finals

Canadian Leylah Fernandez defeated wildcard Harriet Dart 6-2, 6-1 to move into the semi-finals of the Eastbourne Open at Devonshire Park Lawn Club on Thursday.
It makes her the first Canadian woman to reach the Eastbourne semi-finals since Aleksandra Wozniack in 2009.
Fernandez, ranked No 30, will face the winner of the match between American Madison Keys, the No 4 seed, and Karolina Muchova next.
Earlier in the tournament, the 21-year-old Canadian won against No 7 seed Barbora Krejcikova (6-2, 3-6, 6-2) and American qualifier Ashlyn Krueger (6-2, 6-1).
Dart, ranked No 105, edged out Marie Bouzkova (7-5, 6-7 (7), 6-4) and beat American lucky loser Sofia Kenin (6-3, 6-7 (3), 6-0) in the previous rounds of the Eastbourne tournament.
