Dutchwoman Rus upends top seed Pavlyuchenkova to make quarters in Rouen

Dutchwoman Arantxa Rus upset Russian Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova, the top seed, 6-3, 1-6, 6-3 to move into the quarter-finals of the Rouen Open at the Kindarena on Thursday.
Rus, ranked No 53, will face Pole Magda Linette next. It’s her fourth win over Pavlyuchenkova in five meetings.
In the previous round of the Rouen tournament, the 33-year-old Dutchman beat American qualifier Robin Montgomery (6-3, 6-1).
Pavlyuchenkova, ranked No 22, defeated French wildcard Alice Robbe (6-2, 6-2) in the first round.
