Dutch Open: Kudermetova takes revenge over Bencic to reach semis
Veronika Kudermetova had lost her last three matches to Belinda Bencic and has now tied their head-to-head at 4-4
Russian Veronika Kudermetova, the No 6 seed, moved is through to the semi-finals of the Dutch Open with a straight sets upset win over Swiss Belinda Bencic, the No 2 seed, at the Autotron Rosmalen on Friday.
Kudermetova, who reached the quarter-finals at last week’s Roland-Garros Championships, won 6-4, 6-2 in one hour and 27 minutes.
The Russian had lost her last three matches against Bencic and the win now levels their career head-to-head at 4-4.
The 24th-ranked Kudermetova will either play countrywoman Ekaterina Alexandrova, the No 7 seed, or American qualifier Caty McNally for a place in the final.
