Dutch Open: Kudermetova rolls past qualifier Zhao to make quarter-finals

Russian Veronika Kudermetova, the top seed, moved into the last 8 of the Dutch Open by beating Canadian qualifier Carol Zhao 6-1, 6-3 at the Autotron Rosmalen in’s-Hertogenbosch on Wednesday.
Kudermetova, ranked No 14, will play the winner of the match between Swiss wildcard Celine Naef and American Catherine McNally, the No 8 seed, next.
The Russian benefited from the abandonment of American Alison Riske-Amritraj (6-3, 3-0) ahead of her victory.
In the previous round of the Rosmalen tournament, Zhao, ranked No 163, won against Belgian Ysaline Bonaventure (7-6 (3), 7-6 (4)).
