Dubai Open: Vondrousova reaches last 16; faces Samsonova next
Marketa Vondrousova beat Peyton Stearns 6-1, 5-7, 6-2 on Tuesday and will play No 12 seed Liudmila Samsonova in the next round

No 7 seed Marketa Vondrousova moved into the last 16 of the Dubai Open by winning against American Peyton Stearns 6-1, 5-7, 6-2 at The Aviation Club Tennis Centre on Tuesday.
This was only the second win of the season for the former Wimbleodn runner-up. Vondrousova, ranked No 8, will play No 12 seed Liudmila Samsonova next.
Stearns, ranked No 65, beat Russian Mirra Andreeva (6-2, 2-6, 6-1) in the previous round of the Dubai tournament.
