Dubai Open: Potapova makes last 16

Russian Anastasia Potapova reached the last 16 of the Dubai Open by winning against Italian lucky loser Lucia Bronzetti 6-0, 6-3 at The Aviation Club Tennis Centre on Tuesday afternoon.
Potapova, ranked No 35, will face the winner of the match between Japanese qualifier Nao Hibino and Chinese Qinwen Zheng, the No 6 seed, next.
In the previous round of the Dubai tournament, the 22-year-old Russian edged out Chinese Lin Zhu (4-6, 6-2, 6-4).
Bronzetti, ranked No 60, edged out Russian Daria Kasatkina, the No 10 seed (7-6 (5), 4-6, 7-5) during the first round of the Dubai tournament.
