Dubai Open: Muchova advances to last four

No 14 seed Karolina Muchova moved into the last four of the Dubai Open by beating Romanian wildcard Sorana Cirstea 6-2, 7-5 at The Aviation Club Tennis Centre on Thursday.

Muchova, ranked No 17, will play Dane Clara Tauson next.

Earlier in the tournament, Karolina Muchova won against Dutch qualifier Suzan Lamens (6-2, 6-2), wildcard Emma Raducanu (7-6 (6), 6-4) and American McCartney Kessler (6-3, 1-6, 7-6 (5)).

Cirstea, ranked No 89, defeated Russian Daria Kasatkina, the No 10 seed (6-1, 6-4), American qualifier Alycia Parks (3-6, 6-4, 6-1) and American Emma Navarro, the No 8 seed (7-6 (5), 3-6, 7-5) in the previous rounds of the Dubai tournament.
