Czech Petra Kvitova, the No 12 seed, reached the second round of the Dubai Duty Free Championships by winning against Italian Martina Trevisan 6-2, 6-1 at The Aviation Club Tennis Centre on Sunday.
Kvitova, ranked No 13, will play the winner of the match between Croat Petra Martic and Kazakh Yulia Putintseva next.
