Romanian qualifier Ana Bogdan won against American Shelby Rogers 7-6 (3), 6-3 to reach the last 16 of the Dubai Duty Free Championships at The Aviation Club Tennis Centre on Tuesday.
Bogdan, ranked No 75, will play American Jessica Pegula, the No 3 seed, next.
The Romanian defeated German qualifier Laura Siegemund (7-5, 6-3) ahead of her victory.
In the previous round of the Dubai Open, Rogers, ranked No 45, won against lucky loser Claire Liu (6-4, 6-4).
