Dow Tennis Classic: Sebov upsets Zhu to reach quarter-finals
Katherine Sebov beat Lin Zhu 6-4, 6-3 on Thursday evening. She’ll face wildcard Peyton Stearns in the next round
Canadian qualifier Katherine Sebov advanced to the last 8 of the Dow Tennis Classic by winning against Chinese Lin Zhu, the No 3 seed, 6-4, 6-3 at Greater Midland Tennis Center on Thursday evening.
Sebov, ranked No 229, will play wildcard Peyton Stearns next.
The Canadian defeated American qualifier Robin Montgomery (7-6 (6), 5-7, 6-3) in the previous round.
In the previous round, Zhu, ranked No 58, won against American Louisa Chirico (6-4, 6-4).
