Russian Polina Kudermetova, the No 9 seed, won against American wildcard Katrina Scott 6-4, 6-2 to move into the last 16 of the Dow Tennis Classic on Wednesday evening.
Kudermetova, ranked No 114, will play wildcard Karina Miller next.
