San Diego Open: Sakkari through to quarter-finals as Osorio retires
The Greek star will play American qualifier Emma Navarro in the next round

Greece’s Maria Sakkari, the No 3 seed, reached the quarter-finals of the Cymbiotika San Diego Open when Colombian qualifier Camila Osorio retired on Wednesday.
Sakkari, ranked No 9, led 6-3, 2-2 when Osorio, ranked No 75, forfeited the match.
The Greek star, who faced an early exit at the US Open, will face American qualifier Emma Navarro for a spot in the semi-finals.
In the previous round, the 21-year-old Colombian edged out Polish qualifier Magdalena Frech (6-3, 1-6, 6-4).
