San Diego Open: Navarro advances to quarter-final clash against Sakkari

American qualifier Emma Navarro reached the quarter-finals of the Cymbiotika San Diego Open by defeating Belarusian qualifier Aliaksandra Sasnovich 7-5, 6-4 on Wednesday.
Navarro, ranked No 61, will face Greece’s Maria Sakkari, the No 3 seed, next.
In the previous round, the 22-year-old American won against Italian Jasmine Paolini (7-5, 6-0).
Sasnovich, ranked No 102, beat Swiss Belinda Bencic, the No 5 seed (6-3, 3-6, 6-2) in the 32.
