American Katrina Scott edged out Frenchwoman Jessika Ponchet 7-6 (4), 6-7 (7), 7-6 (6) to move into the last 16 of the Crèdit Andorrà Open on Monday evening.
Scott, ranked No 166, will play the winner of the match between Yanina Wickmayer and second seed Alison Van Uytvanck next.
