No 5 seed Diane Parry reached the last eight of the Colina Open by defeating Fiona Ferro 6-4, 6-1 at the Club Deportivo Universidad Catolica on Wednesday evening.
Parry, ranked No 104, edged out Argentinian Maria Lourdes Carle (1-6, 6-3, 7-5) in the previous round of the Chilean tournament.
In the first round of the Chilean tournament, Ferro, ranked No 160, won against Brazilian Carolina M. Alves (6-4, 6-1).
