Colina Open: Parry beats Mandlik to book spot in final
Diane Parry beat Elizabeth Mandlik 7-6 (3), 6-2 and will play the winner of the match between Nadia Podoroska, the No 3 seed, and Sara Bejlek in the final
Frenchwoman Diane Parry, the No 5 seed, reached the final of the Colina Open by defeating American Elizabeth Mandlik, the No 7 seed, 7-6 (3), 6-2 at the Club Deportivo Universidad Catolica.
Parry, ranked No 104, will face the winner of the match between Argentinian Nadia Podoroska, the No 3 seed, and Sara Bejlek next.
The 21-year-old Frenchman won against Argentinian Maria Lourdes Carle (1-6, 6-3, 7-5), Fiona Ferro (6-4, 6-1) and Slovenian Polona Hercog (6-7 (7), 6-3, 6-1) in the previous rounds of the Chilean tournament.
Earlier in the tournament, Mandlik, ranked No 125, won against Peruvian wildcard Lucciana Perez Alarcon (6-1, 6-0), Brazilian Laura Pigossi (3-6, 6-4, 6-0) and Ukrainian Yulia Starodubtsewa (7-6 (1), 6-3).
