Colina Open: Bejlek advances to meet Parry in final
The Czech defeated Nadia Podoroska 6-0, 4-6, 6-2 in the semi-finals on Saturday
Czech Republic’s Sara Bejlek reached the final of the Colina Open by defeating Argentinian Nadia Podoroska, the No 3 seed, 6-0, 4-6, 6-2 at the Club Deportivo Universidad Catolica on Saturday.
Bejlek, ranked No 194, will face Frenchwoman Diane Parry, the No 5 seed, next.
The Czech won against Hungarian Anna Bondar, the No 6 seed (5-7, 6-2, 6-3), Georgian qualifier Ekaterine Gorgodze (6-1, 6-2) and Hungarian Panna Udvardy (4-6, 7-6 (3), 6-4) earlier in the week.
In the previous rounds of the Chilean tournament, Podoroska, ranked No 78, beat Swiss qualifier Conny Perrin (7-6 (5), 1-6, 7-5), Chilean wildcard Daniela Seguel (6-1, 6-4) and Frenchwoman Leolia Jeanjean, the No 8 seed (6-4, 6-2).
