Spaniard Nuria Parrizas Diaz moved into the quarter-finals of the Transylvania Open by Verdino by winning against Hungarian Dalma Galfi 6-1, 6-4 on Thursday.
Parrizas Diaz, ranked No 75, will play the winner of the match between Romanian wildcard Elena-Gabriela Ruse and Chinese Xiyu Wang, the No 7 seed, next.
The Spaniard beat Romanian wildcard Irina Bara (6-1, 7-5) ahead of her victory.
In the previous round, Galfi, ranked No 89, edged out Italian Lucia Bronzetti, the No 9 seed (4-6, 6-2, 6-4).
