Transylvania Open by Verdino: Niemeier advances to quarter-finals

German Jule Niemeier beat Russian qualifier Kamilla Rakhimova 6-4, 6-4 to advance to the quarter-finals of the Transylvania Open by Verdino on Wednesday evening.
Niemeier, ranked No 74, will face Italian Jasmine Paolini next.
The German won against Romanian Ana Bogdan, the No 3 seed (7-6 (5), 6-2) in the previous round.
In the previous round, Rakhimova, ranked No 127, won against Serb qualifier Olga Danilovic (6-2, 6-4).
