Hungarian Anna Bondar, the No 8 seed, advanced to the last eight of the Transylvania Open by Verdino by defeating Harriet Dart 7-6 (3), 6-4 on Wednesday afternoon.
Bondar, ranked No 62, will play the winner of the match between Swiss Viktorija Golubic and Russian Anastasia Potapova, the No 4 seed, next.
The Hungarian won against Russian qualifier Elina Avanesyan (6-4, 6-2) ahead of her victory.
In the previous round, Dart, ranked No 90, won against French lucky loser Oceane Dodin (6-2, 6-0).
