New top seed Simona Halep will open her campaign at the Transylvania Open against a fellow Romanian – Elena-Gabriela Ruse.
The former world No 1 was due to be seeded second, but Elise Mertens has now withdrawn from the tournament.
Anett Kontaveit – through to the Kremlin Cup final on Sunday – is now seeded second and will face a qualifier.
US Open champion Emma Raducanu seeks to bounce back from her disappointing Indian Wells display and begins against Polona Hercog.
The tournament – which begins on Monday – will take place behind closed doors due to new regulations following the increased rates of Covid-19 in the area.
