Canadian qualifier Marina Stakusic advanced to the second round of the Cluj-Napoca Open by edging out Romanian Sorana Cirstea 6-1, 1-6, 6-4 at the BT Arena on Monday evening.

Stakusic, ranked No 119, will face the winner of the match between German Laura Siegemund and Spaniard Jessica Bouzas Maneiro, the No 6 seed, next.
