German Tatjana Maria, the second seed, won against Chinese Zhuoxuan Bai 7-5, 6-3 to advance to the second round of the Cluj-Napoca Open at the BTarena on Tuesday.
Maria, ranked No 49, will play the winner of the match between Italian Sara Errani and American Catherine McNally next.
