Bulgarian Viktoriya Tomova, the No 7 seed, moved into the second round of the Cleveland Open by winning against American wildcard Lauren Davis 6-1, 6-4 at Jacobs Pavilion on Monday night.
Tomova, ranked No 50, will face Dutchwoman Arantxa Rus next.
